Hello dear community,

i just wanted to write my experience here. For the people who are interested and want to read it .
I officially got panic attacks because of gambling (for the most part). I went to a psychotherapist and it turned out that due to the long stress of gambling, losing money etc. I developed a panic attack. That is absolutely sick. I can only tell you that these problems are so bad that you wouldn't wish them on your worst enemy, really heavy. So take care of yourselves. It can get to you over time, because playing all the time can have really negative effects on your brain.

If anyone has experienced the same thing, I'd love to hear your experiences! :')

It's good to deal with it, even if it's difficult, but you've already described it correctly.
Do you do exercises against it?

I'm currently doing autogenic training, pmr and bodyscan. Eating healthily, going for walks (no sport because I'm still too weak). That's what I'm doing at the moment and, of course, psychotherapy. Always trying to find inner peace, to come to terms with yourself and your body and your psyche, even if it's damaged, and to accept it.
Up until yesterday I was feeling absolutely horrible, I couldn't eat anything because I was nauseous ALL THE TIME, and I didn't sleep for an hour, I think I only slept for 4-5 hours in total from Monday to yesterday. But now, since the conversation, I feel 80-90% better. This certainty, now knowing that it comes from gambling and an unhealthy lifestyle, has simply given me a real push and more than half of the problems are now gone, really unbelievable. The best thing you can do is go to a psychotherapist immediately!!! if anyone is reading this with the problems. That solves the problems straight away.
In any case, she said that the unhealthy lifestyle (very little sleep, no exercise, and poor diet) + the Gambling addiction led to my brain developing panic attacks. With the points I mentioned, the brain is always on 100% stress, which in the long run leads to something that the brain can no longer keep up with and then sends out signals, which are then just the panic attacks with the rest, etc.

So guys, I played for years without any problems, then at one point I thought that was it. This gambling doesn't just kill your money, at some point it really kills your whole brain and body.

That sounds very good, gather the energy you need to stabilize your mind.
Playing makes a lot of things that are important secondary to getting your focus back... it's just not always that easy, it happens to me from time to time, even if I've had therapy it's not easy.

The panic attacks were mentioned as a problem by many people, with alcohol and chemical drugs it was also often a problem.

You describe it correctly
The brain goes through highs and lows every second, many substances are released.

So when gambling is no longer taking place, these substances are released, which triggers this stress and can lead to panic attacks.
So what you need to do is exactly what you are doing right now, get the brain used to reality again, learn to release the dopamine in moderation and not keep it up.
Breathing exercises have been recommended for panic attacks, perhaps this can also provide you with additional support

Lots of strength for the time being and even if you have a low, it's normal - don't forget that 🙂

May I ask you when you had these panic attacks? In which situation? Or were they constantly spread throughout the day? You said you couldn't sleep? Did the attacks really stop you from sleeping?

The panic attacks just come out of nowhere. And yes, they are spread throughout the day until you fall asleep. You can have several in one day or just one. But especially at the beginning you have several. But it's not just the panic attacks themselves, you also have an uncomfortable feeling throughout the day because you can't stop thinking about them. At the moment, for example, I only have one thing that bothers me. And that's the breathing problems throughout the day. It feels like I can't breathe properly. And that is one of the symptoms of panic attacks. It keeps me from sleeping peacefully, especially at night.

I think it's great that you're sharing your experiences. I don't have any personal experience with therapy, but I have a colleague and know how it went for him. Keep your fingers crossed that you get back on track quickly!

The brain is really damaged by this stress. Stress destroys brain cells. When I played a lot, my thinking and my mind were also different, I was more nervous.

I didn't have panic attacks.

But I made more mistakes in life due to gaming stress.

You know what did me good was going into the forest... the trees give you so much strength!
That may sound stupid, but there are really studies that prove that nature makes us healthy...the thick oxygen gives us energy, the peace and quiet and the birdsong is a cure for the soul and helps us to find our balance!

So it helped me a lot!

Yes, and then there's a bathing lake in the forest 😉🌲🌲I love that and if you're lucky you're all alone there.

But you shouldn't place any bets when you're there.

I've also had panic attacks.
But if you get treatment, you can quickly get them under control.

I always do it when life is too stressful for me. Now on Saturday I'm going hiking on the Brocken again 😍
