GambleJoe Casino Blacklist

There are some dubious and bad providers among online casinos that you should know and obviously avoid. On our casino blacklist, we list suspicious gambling companies where you should not play for good reasons. The following common issues can cause online casinos to be considered as frivolous:

  • lack of gambling license and/or Non-European concession
  • the use of fake-slots
  • unethical behavior towards players (e.g. repeated refusal to pay out winnings without comprehensible reasons, subsequent change of the terms and conditions in order not to pay out winnings)
  • unethical behavior towards business partners (when the cooperation is terminated without cause and the managers do not provide any information)
  • severe cases of unethical marketing
  • involvement of the casino in serious scandals (e.g. money laundering, mafia etc.)

In order for us to blacklist an online casino, we must have several serious reasons for doing so, such as fraud. We can assure you that we had a serious reason for blacklisting each and every casino listed below.

Check out some features for detection dubious online casinos

There are a few characteristics that make it easy to spot dubious gambling sites. Here are a few tips to help you avoid falling for one of these online casinos.

Find the right gambling license

The first thing you should do is look at the footer and check the gaming licence of the online casino. If there is only a symbol for a licence from Curacao, you should stay away from the provider. If they are not willing to pay your winnings, you have no chance of getting any help from the Curacao regulator. Therefore, you should always make sure to play at online casinos that have a strong licence from Malta, Gibraltar, Isle of Man or the UK Gambling Commission.

Some gambling operators do not have a licence at all or a licence from a non-EU country (e.g. Montenegro). Playing in an online casino without an EU licence is illegal. You should be aware that you are making yourself liable to prosecution.

Unethical behaviour

Before signing up with an online casino, it can be helpful to get some information about the casino. Ask our community at GambleJoe for their experiences and you will find some evidence that winnings are not paid because the player has allegedly acted against the terms and conditions. There have also been cases where players' accounts have been closed for no reason and any funds have been retained by the casino. When we become aware of such practices, these casinos are immediately blacklisted.

If a player has accepted a bonus and is playing with it, but has broken the terms and conditions, we will not take any action. Playing with a bonus is generally a very sensitive subject, so we suggest that you play with your own money rather than with a bonus.

If such cases are known and there is no reasonable justification for the non-payment of winnings, you should avoid such online casinos simply to protect yourself.

Discontinuation of gambling offers

Some online casinos go out of business completely and this is no reason for us to blacklist the casino. As long as the casino behaves properly, it will be shown as 'closed'. So if a casino is unwilling to pay players their winnings, or has other unethical practices, it will be blacklisted.

The use of fake-slots

Most Novomatic and Merkur slots have been counterfeited for years. Therefore, you should carefully check the sound and also the symbols of the slot machine. If there is anything suspicious, you can check where the games are hosted.

To do this, open the slot and move the cursor over the game. Right-click and select 'Inspect'. A console will open, look at the 'Network' tab and you will see the applications. This will give you more information about the host. For example, Netent Slots is hosted by casinomodule.com. You can find out more about the owner of the server by visiting whois.com. If you type in casinomodule.com you will see that the server is registered as Net Entertainment Malta Ltd. You will then be redirected to the correct games from the publisher.

If the data is masked by the server's registrar, or if there are Eastern European servers that are not affiliated with the manufacturer, it is suspected that these are fake slots. You should not play on them.

Help us discovering frauds!

This is not a static list. We will continue to add to the list as we play our part in reforming the online casino industry. Dodgy online casinos should be shut down.

That's why we need the help of our community. So if you find a casino with questionable bonus, player protection or payout policies, you can report it here. We will have a look at the casino, check your claims and if they are justified, we will add the casino here. No other player should have the same problems if they are well informed in advance.
