Instead of verifying new accounts I would just say that the first 3 posts have to be unlocked by a moderator and at least the spam overnight would be done.
And what I would find good would be notifications, if someone quotes me or my name with @ mentions or quite neutral have the possibility to follow a thread. In the notifications you could also put various things (eg. That you have received a PN, has qualified for the PSC lottery, ...).
Possibly one could insert as with the Youtube tag also here uploaded videos directly playable in the posts.
I would like to have a button that takes me directly to the latest forum entries (like in the mobile version).
