Hello everyone,

i just wanted to let you know that Paypal still cancels the debits and does not sue. I cancelled my direct debits 3 weeks ago in the amount of about 1100 € and yesterday evening I received an email from Paypal that the Debt collection will not be pursued further and on the part of Paypal no more claims exist. However, of course, the account was canceled.

To achieve this I have sent an e-mail via the Paypal account itself on the day of the cancellation with the menu item Complaint against seller and modified the Reekmann letter. Furthermore, I sent the same email via my email address registered there. I did not have to send a letter to Luxembourg. The mails were sufficient. I didn't have to contact a debt collection agency, there wasn't enough time for that. So far I only got emails from Paypal about conflict resolution etc.

Maybe this information helps someone.

Kind regards

I know the amount here is not so large but Paypal has also already waived larger amounts

Hey, so I can only join Matthias.I do not know your financial situation, but 220 euros is not worth all the effort.By far not, usually when you book the money back geht deinn PayPal account a few days later in the minus... before your balance is transferred to a Debt collection.I think that's enough time to raise 220 euros, you can then simply balance your Paypal account. If it is no longer in the red, everything is fine .My letters just referred to another contact here the 20000 euros had gambled away at Paypal.

Hello, thank you for the answer. Can I then possibly call and explain the situation, that I split the possibly in 2 rates? So once December and one in January ... sorry I really do not know me at all with it . I do not dare to call, I read everywhere that huge reminder costs are coming. Greetings Ella

You have to pay for each chargeback a fee (5-10 euros), if your PayPal account is in the red, you will get after a while an email to the email address stored there and also at Paypal itself (better to look at both from time to time sometimes gibs only an email at Paypal).I would then simply respond to this email, since they know that it is a casino Debt, they will 100% enter into a 2 installment payment.I'm very sure, as long as you also pay their chargeback costs;)

PS: You can delete your account number at Paypal only when all items have gone from the account and this has also been processed by Paypal.

Hello all,

i also have ~1700 gambling debts still outstanding with paypal...
So far they have simply tried again and again to collect the amounts.

With me, the limit was at some point at 20 € per transaction. But I could Deposit without further ado
500 € a day deposit (25 x 20 €).

Anyway, next week I have an appointment with the Debt counseling and I'm already going
in an addiction therapy. I also have myself blocked at the casinos (or I am partly already).

Now my question: Should I inform PayPal about my situation (debt counseling, threatening settlement possibly private insolvency)
and try that they defer the whole thing for a while until I can pay it (possibly in installments)? Or should I do nothing at all
and wait until a court order comes? Or should I even try to get the money back?

However, the actual payments were made a few weeks ago.

Yes, inform PayPal in any case first of it! This gives you a "good feeling " again a small piece to have clarified AND of course time extension.do that!
Best regards
