After successfully logging in, I was immediately pleased to see many old slot machines from my personal gaming prime-time. First up was the long forgotten explorer from the original Book of Ra. After a few unsuccessful spins I tried my luck on the old Greentube/Merkur classic Katana. Katana doesn't take you to ancient virtual Egypt, but to ancient China. It's a beautifully designed slot machine and I did get a few small wins, but I didn't really reach for the stars.

At the end of my "playing day", I had €262.10 in my account. Not a bad return for my first attempts at a German licensed operator.

Registration with JackpotPiraten

To complete your registration with JackpotPiraten, you will need to enter your current email address, mobile phone number and password, as well as the following details:

• 6-digit lucky number

To verify your registration, a code will be sent to your mobile phone, which you will need to enter into the registration form and agree to the terms and conditions.

How verification works

The German licence is different

The granting of the German gaming licence has brought about many changes for players and operators. I would like to outline the most important points.

• Maximum monthly deposit limit of 1000 euros:

For you, this means that you can only deposit a maximum of €1000 per month at an online casino. This is certainly a questionable decision on the part of the legislators, but there is nothing that can be done about it.

• 24 hours lock (panic button):

You will find the newly developed panic button on every slot machine you open. If you press this button, you will be banned from playing for 24 hours. So think twice before pressing it. A block cannot be lifted.

• 5-second rule:

Certainly another innovation that can be classified as very questionable. It is now mandatory for German licensed arcades to have a minimum of 5 seconds between spins. The days of a quick auto-start or fast spins are now a thing of the past. At first glance, this change may seem superfluous and annoying, but in my tests I found it not so tragic. It is simply a matter of habit.

The new contract also includes reality checks and a ban on daytime advertising.

2nd deposit bonus: 100% up to €100 bonus, 50x wagering within 30 days on a first deposit of at least €10.

3rd deposit bonus: 50% bonus up to €100, wager 50x within 30 days on a deposit of at least €10.

My thoughts on the deposit bonus: In general I am a fan of deposit bonuses, but with these deposit bonuses being offered I just find the 50x multiplier way too high. I prefer to play with real money and know exactly when I can withdraw my winnings rather than being tied to a high conversion factor. However, for players who don't mind this conversion factor, the deposit bonus can be redeemed without any problems.
