This information emerged from a study which was published some weeks ago by the market research company “The Business Research Company”. The turnover from the worldwide online gambling market should increase to more than 192 billion US-Dollar by 2030. But what are the reasons for the persisting positive sales trend?

Only a few weeks ago we had reported about a study of the consulting company Btobet, which came to the conclusion that the worldwide sports betting market will grow exponentially. According to a detailed report of the market research company The Business Research Company, the turnover of the whole online gambling market in the coming years shall increase significantly. In 2020, the online gambling market made a turnover of nearly 77 billion Euro – a fast growing trend.

In 2030, a yearly turnover of nearly 200 billion US-Dollar is expected

Since 2015, the worldwide online gambling market has shown a yearly increase in two-digit- figures. There was a yearly average rate of increase of 13.7%. The growth will persist in the coming years. According to the recent prognosis, in 2025 we expect to have a yearly turnover of more than 127.4 billion US-Dollar. Five years later, the turnover of the online gambling market is expected to increase to the gigantic amount of 192.2 billion US-Dollar. As a comparison: The turnover in 2020 was nearly 77 billion US-Dollar.

What are the reasons for the positive prognosis?

The authors of the report called “Online Gambling Global Market Opportunities And Strategies To 2030, By Game Type”, which was published in 2022, point out that there are several reasons for the positive future prospects. Among other things, one is expecting a “strong economic growth in the emerging countries” as well as an “increase in popularity of digital payments and the increase in available income”. All these factors benefit the positive market trends and will lead to a growth in the global online gambling market.

Besides this, the mobile segment of the industry is becoming even more important. In fact, it is expected, that the mobile segment will register an enormous increase in the coming years, particularly with smartphones and Tablet-PCs. Even more online gambling providers are cooperating with influencers and prominent people, so that even more people are confronted with the issue of online gambling.

The online gambling operators are currently working on creating an even more pleasant experience for the users.
