The gambling metropole Las Vegas is fighting its way back to normality step by step. The casinos have already reopened some time ago. Now the protection and hygiene measures will also be retracted. A few weeks ago, the Perspex shields on the casino tables of several casinos were removed. The desert metropole will soon host the first large event.

Las Vegas celebrates life. If you look at the streets of the gambling metropole these days, there is no trace of the Corona pandemic. The city is once again comparatively full, some people do not wear a mask anymore and social distance is apparently taken into consideration only sporadically. Besides, in the casinos themselves there are hardly any protection and hygiene measures. Recently the unpopular Perspex shields on the poker tables were removed in several places.

Mask free and no Perspex reopening

The governor of Nevada, Steve Sisloak, recently announced that they are striving to have a completely mask free reopening with no Perspex. It was Wynn/Encore which initially announced, that the Perspex shields on the poker tables were removed. Thereupon, others, among them, ARIA, Red Rock und the Bellagio followed suit.

Complete vaccination is required for those removing the mask and following no social distance. For non-vaccinated, the mask and social distance rules are still valid. However, since there was a well-functioning vaccine campaign in the United States, there is a very high percentage of the US-population that is vaccinated.

Las Vegas is the largest city in the US Federal State of Nevada and at the same time the most famous gambling metropole in the world. In 2019, around 42 million people visited the gambling metropole. Currently around 670,000 people live in the city, which was founded in 1905. In the past, artists and musicians as Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Elton John as well as David Copperfield and the Magic duo Siegfried and Roy were working here.

Las Vegas - the beginning of a new era

For nearly one and a half years, the “Sin City” was nearly at a standstill. In October of the past year, in an article, we addressed the question: Las Vegas - the end of a gambling era? Today it is clear that not even a worldwide pandemic can slow down the gambling metropole in the long term. Moreover, the Corona pandemic can be the beginning of a new better era for the “Gambling Mecca” Las Vegas.

There is currently however quite a high chance, that there will soon be complete normality in Las Vegas - without masks, no social distance and without Perspex shields. A prerequisite for this is of course, that all inhabitants and tourists must be completely vaccinated.

Currently, the first large scale events are already in the pipeline in Las Vegas. The “World of Concrete“, a fair for concrete construction will soon take place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. More than ten thousand visitors are expected to visit this fair between the 8th. and the 10th. June 2021.

Conclusion

The “Entertainment mecca“ Las Vegas is back. The casinos have opened and the protection and hygiene regulations are being relaxed nearly every week, or are even being retracted. This is leading to the city becoming more popular, especially with tourists. As a result, more guests are gradually visiting the desert metropole. Should things continue to develop so positively, then everything will be back as before the pandemic in Las Vegas.
