A 54-year old US-American has threatened a casino in Florida with a bomb attack. The woman had previously lost a couple of hundred US-Dollar at the slot machines. Afterwards she was so furious that she made a call from her mobile threatening with a bomb attack. But what punishment now awaits the unlucky casino visitor?

Initially the 54- year- old was a guest at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa. She lost the amount of 380 US-Dollar at the casino and was so furious, that she threatened with a bomb attack. She contacted the casino by phone to make the bomb threat. The police of Clearwater (US-Federal State Floria) had arrested the woman shortly afterwards. The location of her mobile phone led the investigators to track the location of Adele B.

Impulse control disorder as the reason for the bomb threat?

As the Clearwater Police Department has announced, the culprit Adele B. stated that she suffers from a so-called Impulse Controlled Disorder, and it is for this reason that she carried out the bomb threat. Further to this Adele B. stated, that she has no knowledge whatsoever, how one builds or ignites a bomb. In spite of this, the 54 year old employee spread fear among the guests of the casino and she must stand trial for this.

The police of Clearwater summarised the happenings as follows:

“When Adele B. lost 380 US-Dollar at the game slots in the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, she became furious. After the woman returned from the Casino to the hotel room, she was overwhelmed by outbursts of rage, as she herself has admitted.”

Adele B. was arrested a few hours after the act.

After Adele B. made the bomb scare phone call to the casino, the casino employees informed the police immediately. The officers managed to locate the mobile phone which was registered on the suspect. The result: A few hours after the threatening call, Adele B. was arrested by the police in her hotel in Clearwater. The woman confessed to the deed.

Nevertheless the 54-year-old can, in the worst case scenario, face up to 15 years in prison. Besides this, in case of a conviction, there can be a fine amounting to 10,000 US-Dollar. The police authorities are accusing the woman of breaching Chapter 790 of the Florida Statute.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa was opened in 2004 and is found in the US-Federal State Florida. The casino measures around 190,000 square metres, which makes it the sixth largest casino in the world. Around 5,000 Game slots as well as 110 table games are available.

Episodes of bomb threats in casinos are happening often.

In the recent past there were several bomb threats in American Casinos. Lately a security employee of the Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel & Casino in Louisiana threatened his employers with a bomb attack on two occasions. So far there have been no details about the background information.

Conclusion

Most probably the act of the 54 year old is an emotional act to a panic reaction. After her loss of a total of 380 US-Dollar she was so furious, that when she returned to the hotel, she reached for her mobile and made the bomb threat. Now she must stand trial and here it will also be determined, to what extent her Impulse Controlled disorder could have been responsible for the act.
