Hey everyone,

has anyone had any experience with the new Bally Wulff slot "Balthazar"? Apart from a really nice look of the game, my first impressions were mixed as far as the wins are concerned. That was about a week ago, relatively shortly after release. I find the base game quite hard - among other things because you always need at least 3 of the same symbols to win (even from the top symbols). But I "stuck with it". Then the Mystery Mode gave me back so much a few times that I wanted to (and could ) play the game longer... and so I already come to the interesting part of the article, which is why I would be interested in the opinions of other players.

My stakes are always in the range of 1 to max. 4 EUR per spin. The mystery mode comes every 60-80 spins, sometimes more sometimes less. Also sometimes 200 spins not at all, but then suddenly 2 or 3 times in a short time in succession, which is why I would estimate the average about so. When the mode is then triggered, all symbols that appear 3 times on the reels are marked once by a white light. At the end, a symbol is then selected from all 15 symbols and if the selected symbol has been marked before (i.e. is present at least 3 times), then it is stamped and evaluated on all lines (as we know it from the normal book games like BoD etc.). While there is no way to extend them in the free spins, I don't know of any other book games that give you more free spins than anything between 8 and 10 right from the start. 15 or 25 sounds pretty nice. This might get some book game lovers out of their comfort zone, but what the heck, I personally really like it and I like this kind of games in general. Also, it seems to me that despite the lack of an extension, you walk away from the free spins with a very good Multiplier on average (often triple digits). When I get into the free spins on Balthazar, I have a real sense of anticipation (as I do with many Play'n'Go or Big Time Gaming / Push Gaming games as well)! Worth mentioning: 5 bonus symbols (this pink diamond) not only bring the maximum number of free spins, but also give a nice 2000x the total bet (if on a payline even 2500x, since the diamond is also WILD and would then stand for 5x Balthazar). I personally had only 4 diamonds so far, but that still brought me 15 free spins and a total win of 217x stake... (unfortunately only to 2 EUR, I had screwed down from 4 EUR shortly before, you know it..).

What I don't like about the free spins: few top symbols appear during the spins, so you sometimes get the feeling that high wins, which are made possible by these very symbols, are rarely feasible).
