I recently had an encounter of the third kind with an Iglo Schlemmerfilet. I took son things on offer. You can only laugh at the normal price and leave it strictly out of protest. But that's another topic... Anyway, I used to love eating the bordelaise pieces... Well, to put it in a nutshell, the supposed gourmet fillet was made from fish scraps of all kinds and colors and the only thing missing were the bones. It was so disgusting that I got a nasty herpes with 4 blisters on my upper lip. It took 10 days to heal. One good thing about it is that I won't forget this experience in a hurry...
Today I'm having currywurst fries from the stall

That is absolutely disgusting. If I'm ever tempted to get one of those Bordelaise things, I'll remember your story. I used to really like them too, but noticed many years ago that they had lost a lot of their flavor. No comparison to the past. I might have tried the Schlemmerfilet again as a test, but after the report here I'll definitely give it a miss.
I have to agree with you. This crust, which is why you buy it at 70%, is no longer as tasty. However, if you are tempted, I would advise you not to look at it from below, i.e. not to turn it over and not to scrape off the crust, but rather to close your eyes and eat it 😁

Currywurst with chips always works 😉
This tastes even better than the Schlemmer Fillets from Iglo, they seem to have changed the recipe. And what was also new with my last Schlemmer Filet was that it is now in a paper bowl and no longer in the aluminum bowl as we always knew it before. Max wrote that when he bought it, the price was significantly reduced. Maybe it was right on the edge of the expiry date so that it made him sick I like Iglo and tomorrow I'm eating red cabbage from Iglo (Stiftung Warentest only rated 2 red cabbages the frozen one from Iglo and the one from Kühne in a jar as very good) and tomorrow I'm having potatoes and dumplings made from fresh minced meat from the butcher with the red cabbage.

Iglo is not affordable for low-income earners, I prefer the cheap brand, the same "crap", only cheaper. The price difference is a good €1.50 for such a fillet, just for the Iglo name.

Cheap brands often taste much better and are cheaper than the expensive branded crap. They come from the same manufacturer anyway, i.e. big manufacturers are behind the private labels
Finally, the pollack is filleted at sea and pressed into thick blocks, from which the "gourmet fillets" are then cut. As, unlike fish fingers, you can still see the individual pieces of fillet, it looks a bit zombie-like. But the quality is probably no worse than fish fingers, nuggets of separator meat and all the other industrial garbage...
