Royal Flush

The Royal Flush is the strongest hand in poker. In a 52-card deck, there are only four possible combinations to get this hand. Basically, a royal flush is a "normal" straight flush. But the royal flush is much rarer and therefore more valuable because of the value of the cards. To be more precise, the ace is always the highest card in a royal flush.

What does a royal flush look like in Poker?

As already mentioned, the royal flush is at the top of the list of the best poker hands. The prerequisite for this is first of all a straight. The word "straight" already indicates that in this case it is five cards in a continuous row. A royal flush is a straight flush with the ace as the highest card and is therefore the highest straight flush.

Example of a Royal Flush:

  • Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10 (all in either Clubs, Pieces, Diamonds or Hearts)

Probability of a Royal Flush

The probability of receiving a royal flush in the game is extremely low. To be more precise, the probability is 0.00015%. For comparison, the probability of a pair is around 42.25% and the probability of a Three of a kind is still 2.11%.
