On the night of New Year’s Eve unknown perpetrators broke into a gambling hall in Nordrhein-Westphalia. They drove through the glass shop window to enter the building. Did the perpetrators manage to escape with a loot during this bold coup?

On New Year’s Eve shortly before four in the morning a very bold break-in took place in Kleve in Nordrhein Westphalia. Unknown perpetrators drove with a car through the glass shop window. They also tampered with a money exchange machine which was secured to the ground. Just a few weeks ago we had reported that in Berlin there was a trial against a gang who allegedly committed 13 robberies on bingo halls. Besides this, in the past days there were several break-ins in gambling halls around Germany.

The perpetrators targeted a casino hall in Emmericher Street in Kleve-Kellen. They first drove through a shop window with a private car and then they tampered with a money exchange machine which was in the gambling hall and anchored to the floor. The perpetrators managed to pull out the machine from its anchoring, however according to the information we received, they did not manage to take any money. In fact they disappeared.

The police officers carried out a search for the perpetrators in the vicinity of the casino. However, this proved to be futile. The criminal police in Kleve took over the investigations and is asking the public to report any information they might have on the telephone number 02821 5040. In Autumn of last year we had reported, among other things, about two armed casino holdups in Stuttgart.

The unknown perpetrators managed to break in a gambling hall in Hellegraben and make away with an unknown sum. In this case, the police department in Warendorf is leading the investigations. There were also break-ins in gambling halls during the previous days and weeks. Three days before New Year’s Eve there was a break-in in a gambling hall in in Meßkirch (on Veritasring) and cash was stolen. During the Christmas holidays there was another break-in in a gambling hall in the Poststraße in Salzbergen (Niedersachsen). Two slot machines were also damaged here.

Conclusion

During the night of New Year’s Eve there were two break-ins in gambling halls nearly at the same. In one of the cases, the perpetrators managed to make away with money. Besides this, there were also break-ins in casinos in the days between Christmas and New Year. The responsible police departments are leading the investigations and are looking for the perpetrators who were involved in the cases. We are excited to see, whether the police will manage to find the perpetrators involved in the cases and whether the video recordings will help.
