It is not usual that a business in the gambling sector is family run. Many betting providers and online casinos are managed by the large firms which can definitely not be classified as family businesses. Tipwin is one of the few exceptions. The traditional Annual General Meeting of the owner-managed company was held two weeks ago.

A few months ago Tipwin Limited was among the first gambling providers which managed to acquire a German licence for virtual slot machines. Most gambling enthusiasts will not be aware that this is a family run business, which is rich in tradition, and which has its roots in Germany. Tipwin’s traditional Annual General Meeting was held in the BayArena on the 22nd. November. Around 250 guests were invited.

Moderator Marcel Reif moderated the evening

Besides business partners, the company’s friends were invited to this year’s Annual General Meeting of the gambling firm. The event was moderated by the Swiss sports journalist Marcel Reif. The programme included three interesting workshops, as well as current issues such as prevention of money laundering and player protection. A few days ago we had reported about the most annoying player protection regulations of the State Gambling Act (GlüStV).

Afterwards, the guests who were invited to Tipwin’s General Meeting had the opportunity to tour the stadium of the BayArena. The location for this event was chosen for a reason. It is the home stadium of their advertising partner Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

tipwin had and still has to overcome many challenges

Ivica Batinic, managing partner of tipwin, pointed out in his speech at the Annual General Meeting that during the past three years his company had to overcome many challenges. It was not only the Corona pandemic which presented a challenge but also the strict gambling regulations in Germany. Besides these there are also further burdens such as the increase in prices.

Batinic was proud of the fact that till now tipwin was able to overcome all these challenges. Being a family business, tipwin attaches great importance to the fact that there should not be any deduction in wages and that no employees are dismissed. Till now fortunately they were also able to keep all their collaborations.

Besides this, in his speech, he showed that he is happy with the current developments. Tipwin has managed to acquire one of the first German licences for virtual slot machines. Tipwin has already been holding a licence for sports betting for some time. The current licence should be extended in December.

In the future, Batinic definitely wants to remain a family business. He spoke clearly about this during the Annual General Meeting:

“We will remain a family business."
