"Higher, faster, further": this old Olympic motto can be perfectly applied to the world's modern mega-casinos. "Bigger, glitzier, more profitable", "more space, more games, more glamor", "more rooms, more chips, more show" - it is truly impressive to see the superlatives the industry has created in recent decades. With all the possibilities of the online world, these temples of gambling still seem to be booming!

Some of the online gambling predictions of the past ten years that were thought to be so certain - such as VR slots and VR casinos - have not been confirmed. Nevertheless, digital gambling is growing inexorably worldwide. On the other hand, there are apparently still an enormous number of people who are particularly fascinated by real casino visits.

The result: ever more enormous structures are being built in the international gambling strongholds - with dimensions reminiscent of theme parks, city attractions or entire themed worlds. A prime example of this is the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, which opened in December 2023. And this mega building is - spoiler alert - not even in the top 10.

Such places are far more than a collection of gaming tables, slot machines and hotel rooms. They are genuine mega resorts that combine gambling with lifestyle, entertainment, cuisine and luxury at all price levels. These worlds of experience offer shows, gourmet boulevards, shopping malls, replicas of European sights (also known as "theme parks") and space for tens of thousands of daily visitors.

Anyone who thinks that the superlatives can only be found in Las Vegas or Macau is mistaken. We take a closer look at the ten largest casinos in the world - and reveal what makes these places so special.
