Admiral and AdmiralBet are undoubtedly among the most active sponsors in the gambling industry in German-speaking countries. The Austrian sports betting and gaming machine provider has now announced a new partnership: They will be supporting the Women's EHF EURO 2024. Customers should also benefit from this.

AdmiralBet is a very active sports betting and slot machine provider when it comes to sponsoring. Its partners include well-known football clubs, such as Hamburger SV, but also entire leagues, especially the first and second Austrian Bundesliga in football or the major handball associations and competitions in the Alpine republic. The bookie and the company behind it, Admiral Sportwetten GmbH, are particularly active in their home country of Austria.

Those responsible say: "In addition to increasing brand awareness, Admiral sees sponsorship as an important measure to promote Austrian sport, which plays a central role in society. Admiral supports almost 300 clubs in the fields of football, basketball, ice hockey and handball and is a partner of the Uniqa ÖFB Cup, the ÖFB men's, women's and U21 national teams as well as the men's and women's national handball teams and the Handball Liga Austria."

It is therefore hardly surprising that Admiral is particularly involved in the upcoming European Women's Handball Championship. The Women's EHF EURO 2024, which will take place from 28 November to 15 December this year, will be held in Austria, Switzerland and Hungary. According to the organiser, the European Handball Federation (EHF), it is the biggest tournament to date. Not only will it be held in three countries (as was the case in 2022) - above all, 24 teams will be playing each other in (certainly) exciting matches (previously there were 16). There is undoubtedly a lot of promotional potential here for the company. However, customers should not go away empty-handed either.

The Women's European Handball Championship 2024 and Admiral are looking forward to exciting sport and lots of promotions

The Women's EHF EURO will take place this year under the motto "Catch the Spirit". The venues are Vienna, Innsbruck, Basel and Debrecen. The competition will kick off on 28 November at the Főnix Aréna in Debrecen, Hungary. The match for the 2024 European Championship title will finally be played on 15 December 2024 in Vienna between the two winners of the semi-finals, which will also be held in Vienna. This naturally means a lot of publicity for the gambling group. Especially as it will be the biggest Euro of all time with 24 teams.

And what is in store for sports betting customers? As is so often the case with such announcements, Admiral's information in this regard is somewhat vague. In the press, the company mainly publicised that it would be present in the halls with its brand. However, certain activities are also planned for gambling enthusiasts on site, which have not yet been explained in detail. There will be promotions, giveaways and other goodies. We can assume that Admiral will also be offering certain online bonuses. As this is a major event that will attract a lot of attention throughout the German-speaking world, we can expect day-specific or game-specific deals, competitions and similar campaigns.

The Admiral Managing Director is already talking about a big hit for all handball fans

Jürgen Irsigler, head of Admiral, recently commented on the cooperation between the EHF and his company - he is convinced that handball fans will benefit:

"We have been actively supporting women's sport in its various forms for years. It is therefore a matter close to our hearts and makes us very proud that Admiral is now also an official partner of the Women's EHF EURO 2024. I am convinced that together we have achieved a very big and qualitative success in the area of support - for handball fans and all those who want to become one."

The EHF comments on the cooperation (with sponsors in general) on its website in a more objective manner:

"The focus is on long-term, deep-rooted working relationships that drive the sport of handball forward. The EHF would like to take this opportunity to thank its partners for their continued support and commitment to European handball. We are proud to associate our name with such professional organisations."

Admiral's broad support of handball therefore seems to be a decisive factor in the co-operation. Incidentally, the EHF says it attaches great importance to talking about "partnerships" rather than "sponsorship". This is because it is about personal, long-term relationships that offer real added value to the sport and not just about money: this is how it can be interpreted from the statements.

Conclusion

Admiral and the EHF are joining forces for the upcoming Women's Handball World Championship. The deal should be worthwhile for both sides. Unfortunately, it is not known what the Austrian bookmaking giant will pay for its presence at the tournament. However, the investment will certainly pay off in terms of publicity for such a high-profile event. It remains to be seen what we players will ultimately gain from the partnership. There are certainly some decent odds boosts to be had.
