Dear Community,
after more than ten intensive years in which I have helped to set up, maintain and develop GambleJoe in its current form with a forum and a community, the time has now come to say goodbye.

As a team, we had to decide together to end our operational activities completely on June 30, 2025
The decision was not easy for us - but under the current organizational and legal framework conditions, we no longer see a reliable basis for continuing the project. More on this in a moment..

GambleJoe was never just a job for us - it was a place of exchange, fairness and critical examination of the gambling world.
And above all, it was a special community - thanks to you.

What does our withdrawal mean for you specifically?

As of July 1, 2025, GambleJoe will unfortunately but necessarily be in what is known as read mode:

  • The forum, the communicator and other interactive functions will be deactivated .

  • New content, such as bonus offers, winning pictures as well as winning videos, comments or forum posts can then no longer be published.

  • The monthly GJ Coin lottery will be discontinued with immediate effect.
The same applies to the remuneration of casino and sports betting reviews as well as sports betting tips.

  • GJ-Coins can still be requested up to and including June 30, 2025 at and exchanged at .
If your balance is not sufficient, you could perhaps donate the remaining GJ Coins to good causes.

  • I will personally make sure that all donations submitted by 29.06.2025 still reach the donation project.

We ask for your understanding that we cannot comment in detail on the internal circumstances.
However, one fact cannot be overlooked: There has been no contact with the management (Daniel) for several months.
Despite this difficult situation, we have tried to keep GambleJoe running for as long as possible in the interests of the community.
However, without clear responsibilities and decision-making powers, the company was barely able to act in many areas.
The read-only mode is therefore a purely precautionary measure that will remain in place until the management actively takes care of the portal again.

What happens to the employees?
Behind the scenes, we have also been preparing to say goodbye:

  • Our accountant has started her own business and has already found a new client.

  • Julian is starting a trial with his own projects for the time being. We will remain in contact and a future collaboration is still very much conceivable.

  • Counter (our programmer) and I will be breaking new ground together and working on fresh ideas and new projects (including GambleBase).

  • Our content authors will continue to be available as needed and could also contribute content in the future if new projects require it.

  • Our four forum moderators were informed a little earlier - I would like to thank them for their bet and I am considering involving them again in new projects in the future.

What's next for me personally?
In the future, I will be staying at GambleBase.com - a similar platform that offers independence and objective exchange about online casinos.
If you would like to continue your exchange with me and others from the community there, I would be delighted to welcome you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart - for your trust, your criticism, your humor and your bets.
Stay critical, stay fair - and play responsibly.

Yours
Matthias

Dear Community,

After more than eight years at GambleJoe, the time has come for me to say goodbye.
What originally began as a small support for Daniel and Matthias developed into a significant stage in my life - both professionally and personally. Back then, GambleJoe was still in its infancy and I don't think any of us could have imagined how big this project would become and the impact it would have on our lives and careers.

in 2018, I moved in with my brother in Malta and I remember it like it was yesterday. We had rented a small office and I would say we really had the time of our lives there for a few years. We had a super family-like relationship internally, and because we were almost all still relatively "new" to Malta, we were able to discover a lot together. At the same time, we had the advantage of having Caro and our accountant Antje on the team, who had been on the island for much longer and to whom I am particularly grateful in retrospect, as they both took great care of me, especially in the early days, and did a lot to help me get to grips with the island, but also to make me feel at home here.

At that time, we were always trying to come up with new ideas and enhancements for GambleJoe. It was an overwhelming feeling to see how the community continued to grow and how we received direct feedback from you to grow together as a community.

Unfortunately, as with many other companies, there have been dark clouds. When I think about it, I suspect they occurred when the coronavirus pandemic broke out. At that time, we stopped working in the office and gradually got used to working from home. Even though it was perhaps productive for the work itself and expanded our comfort zone, in hindsight I feel that it unfortunately also meant that we somehow grew apart as a team.
We spent less time eating together or talking to each other privately during the coffee break. Instead, we were somehow only focused on work. I think that damaged the team chemistry overall.

That's obvious, but it's not the reason why we've now decided to leave the project together.
As Matthias has already mentioned in the text above, we are currently no longer in contact with Daniel. Unfortunately, this is causing a lot of problems that we can't help with, as we are very limited from a bureaucratic and legal point of view.

Due to this tricky situation, as Daniel's brother I have recently tried my best to think about how we can somehow save the structure and keep GambleJoe running smoothly. I have also sought legal advice. So that I can somehow offer Daniel support in his absence. In fact, theoretically there would have been an alternative that I could have taken to court. Unfortunately, however, there were other things that happened internally over the last few years (which I can't talk about) that ultimately led to a disagreement as to whether we should continue to run GambleJoe together under the current circumstances.

I have therefore decided to leave GambleJoe as well and prefer to focus on something of my own. The Risk of one day being solely responsible for GambleJoe, and especially the thought of having to take legal action against my own brother in order to somehow save GambleJoe, kept me up all night. In hindsight, I also think that it shouldn't be my responsibility to save GambleJoe, but that Daniel should decide for himself whether that's what he wants.

I would therefore like to say goodbye to you, I have really got to know a lot of different members over the last few years and it has been a great pleasure to have been a part of the community.
First and foremost, I would like to thank you all as a community. Without you, GambleJoe as a platform would never have become so big. Without your support, we would never have been able to keep all this going for so long.
Even though the forum was sometimes a bit of a mess, I will really miss all of this and all of the individual "characters" on the forum!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the four moderators Saphira, Langhans, Gamble1 and Andre. You have supported us extremely well over the last few months, for which I am very grateful. Thanks to your support, we have managed not to lose our heads completely in these difficult times.
I would also like to thank all my (still) current colleagues such as Matthias, Counter and Antje as well as former long-time GJ colleagues such as Caro, Sabine, Christoph and Andre.

Finally, I would also like to thank Daniel. Even though you often didn't have it easy in life, you always tried your best to be there for me from an early age. Even though some situations may prove difficult these days. I will always be grateful to you for that.
If you happen to read this, I wish you all the best and hope that we will hear from you again one day.

I also wish Matthias & Counter all the best for their new project!

After GambleJoe, I'll be focusing on my own projects for the time being. If anyone in the community wants to stay in touch with me, you can join a private Discord server at , where you can interact and chat together as a community.

Thanks for everything!

Thanks for the great time here in the forum and it's a pity that it's coming to an end. Good luck with GambleBase. I wish everyone who has been on the forum all the best for the future. 🤙🤙

Hi Community,

i'm obviously done with this project now. I joined the GambleJoe project a little over ten years ago through my collaboration with Matthias. At that time, the site was still without community features and the like. Daniel initially provided the basic ideas and we worked hard on the project with new ideas and techniques. We completely rebuilt the entire site and then went online with the "new" GJ in 2016.

And the plan worked: The project and the community continued to grow. As a result, the GJ team also grew, as more and more tasks arose with the further development of the project. Even though I am the only team member with my main residence in Germany, we at least had regular contact with each other through the weekly meetings. There was never really a standstill over the years, there was always something to do, to improve or to redesign.

There were numerous hurdles along the way, but we overcame them and always stayed on the ball. However, the last few months were very exhausting and paralyzing due to the uncertainties. It felt like we had somehow put so much energy into a project for years for nothing. Even though I'm not necessarily a gamer myself, this project has been with me for quite some time now.

The fact that GambleJoe has become so big is of course ultimately down to you, the community. You can implement great ideas without users, but they have to be accepted. For the most part, you have gone along with our developments and ultimately encouraged us that we are on the right path. Thank you for appreciating our work! Even though I sometimes demonized GJ, I will definitely miss the project itself, the community and the team, because they were somehow part of life in the last few years. Well, maybe not so much the advent calendar campaign ...

But who knows, maybe we'll see each other again in another project after 30.06.2025. As Matthias has already mentioned, I will at least be on GambleBase. I wish you every success in your future endeavors.

Uff, that hits me pretty hard too. After all, my daily visit here has been part of my routine for some time now.

In any case, many thanks to the whole team for all the work you've done here over the years. I've always enjoyed being here.

Wish you all the best for your future projects. Maybe we'll all meet again at GambleBase.

It really is a pity, we would have wished it differently as a team, but nothing can be done about the situation.

GambleJoe.com as such will remain accessible in read-only mode for some time.
Only Daniel knows for how long, but unfortunately he is no longer available.

I think it's good to mention GambleBase. I think it's important that you use the reach here so that you can possibly get one or two people involved in another project.

It's a shame that this will end on July 1.

You have given a lot back to the community and I would like to thank you for that.

I was only here for 4.5 years and experienced a few things.

I don't know if I'll be as active elsewhere.

I wish the GJ staff, but also the forum mods and all other members nothing but the best.
