NFL: Cleveland Browns - San Francisco 49ers
NFL Tips: Browns - 49ers
The NFL is now in its sixth week of action and this Sunday's game will feature the 49ers at home to Cleveland. San Francisco are one of two teams that are unbeaten so far, and their win over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday was particularly impressive. The 49ers will also be favourites in Cleveland for several reasons, which I will go into in a moment. The team is very deep at every position, both offensively and defensively, and they have one of the best head coaches in the NFL, who is making things very easy for the team. But that would go beyond the scope of this article.
Cleveland Browns without Deshaun Watson
The Browns will be without quarterback Deshaun Watson this week due to injury. Watson is one of the highest-paid players in the NFL today, and his absence will be felt keenly. The quarterback position is by far the most important position in football and I cannot think of any other position in any other sport that has a similar value. I would have taken Watson against the 49ers, but the spread has already adjusted, and his replacement is PJ Walker, who is not a very good QB. But he now faces a 49ers defence that is one of the best in the league. Just to clarify: PJ Walker has only thrown 5 touchdowns in his career, but 11 interceptions, which should tell you all you need to know.
My Browns v 49ers prediction
San Francisco will dominate this game from the first minute as the Browns offense will not be able to get going. This offense was already pretty much on the ropes with Watson, and PJ Walker gives the team no offensive floor. My guess is that the Browns will not even score in double figures here and then 20 points will be enough for the 49ers. That should be no problem as they average 33.4 points per game.
