MLB: Boston Red Sox - Atlanta Braves
Betting Tips: Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves
The second half of the season kicks off this weekend and I will be concentrating on that. But for tonight, I have picked the Boston Red Sox against the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta is the best team in the MLB right now and has a very good offensive lineup. I assume that the Braves will prevail here, but more on that later in my summary.
Can Atlanta win the title again in 2021?
As I wrote earlier, Atlanta currently have the best record in the MLB and the trend is going in the right direction. They are still missing two of their best pitchers in Max Fried and Kyle Wright, but both are expected to be fit for the start of the playoffs. The Braves' great strength is their offense, with Austin Riley having gone five games without a home run. A home run is when the ball leaves the field, which in baseball is easier said than done. Matt Olson is second in the MLB with 32 home runs, only prodigy Shohei Ohtani has more. The team definitely has the potential to win the title this year.
Why do I back the Braves today? - All the important facts
-The Braves are by far the best offensive team in the MLB.
3rd in runs scored, 2nd in batting average, 2nd in on-base percentage and 1st in slugging.
-Spencer Strider starts for Atlanta, he has by far the most strikeouts with 189 (2nd has 'only' 162)
-Strider has 11 wins, only five other pitchers in the MLB have four.
-The Boston Red Sox pitcher has only 76 strikeouts and seven wins.
My prediction for Red Sox vs. Braves
I have to admit that I am a bit of a fanboy when it comes to the Atlanta Braves, which is why I watch so many of their games. The team is a real treat this year and I would not recommend this tip if I was not convinced. Spencer Strider is one of the best pitchers this year and a strikeout machine, the likes of which have not been seen in the MLB for a long time. Boston is a solid team, but not as strong as it was in the early 2000s. They are a rebuilding team and will not be able to compete with Atlanta under normal circumstances. However, we should remember that this is all a game of chance, and who knows if the Braves have had a stomach upset at the breakfast table or something.
Bet: Braves win with 1.5 runs advantage (bet 2 - 1,5)
The best odds are with bet-at-home: 1,94
