LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT “completely eco”
We are being constantly bombarded with gambling advertising on TV or on the internet. Besides these, several providers sponsor typical activities during sports events. It is not something unusual that the relevant companies advertise and support their services with these offers and means. LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT has taken an unusual route here: For years the company has supported environment protection – and on several occasions it was honoured for its engagement in this field.
At the beginning of May, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT received the Ökoprofit prize of the district Mainz-Bingen. This award was given for the company’s sustainable deployment on different levels. The cooperation project Ökoprofit is well followed by the communities and the local economy.
The company aims to lower the operational costs whilst conserving the natural resources. Besides this the project also aims to maintain and create jobs, motivate the employees, and promote safety at work.
Decades of commitment to the environment
In fact, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT has been very active in environmental protection for quite a while. Wolfgang Haarländer, who is responsible for the environmental management of the company stated: “For the past decades LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT has given great importance to operational environmental protection. In the past years we have undertaken various measures and have made large progress.”
In 2023 the company has celebrated a milestone as a member of the cooperation project Ökoprofit: we have been members for 15 years and want to keep promoting these values for a long time. Besides this, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT has been awarded this prize seven times during its long years of membership.
Quite recently LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT has also stood out for its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable processes. The company has for example been publishing regular explanations for procedures as stipulated in the German Sustainability Code, (Deutsche Nachhaltigkeitskodex (DNK) since 2016.
20 criteria are underlined which among other things focus on strategies, resource managements, equal opportunities, and climate relevant emissions. The reports of DNK informs about the company’s impact on the environment and on society.
The Company LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT
Without doubt, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT is more known for its decade long operations in the gambling industry than it is known for its commitment to environment protection. The company, which was founded in 1949 was based in Braunschweig, and it started out under the name of Löwen Automatendienste. From the very start it was involved in game development.
Since 1956, the company head office is situated in Bingen am Rhein. Nowadays, the company develops, produces, and operates money slot machines in Bingen and in several other locations worldwide. It operates under the brand of Novoline. Since 2003, LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT is a subsidiary company of Novomatic AG.
Conclusion
The Ökoprofit award and the company’s commitment to environmental protection are much less effective advertising than the many other promotions and sponsoring marketing compaigns which LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT and the Löwen Group carry out. In times when environmental consciousness is steadily growing and when the German population is becoming more conscious of the environment, the company’s commitment is however positively applauded.
Unfortunately, the company did not specify which “different measures have made an impact and brought about huge progress”. Further relevant details would definitely be more interesting for a final evaluation. Ökoprofit’s motto is “environment protection with profit”, and this suits LÖWEN ENTERTAINMENT perfectly.
