Champions League in Hamburg? Yes, tomorrow night, as Donezk will be playing their Champions League home games in Hamburg due to the situation back home. Obviously, the situation is anything other than ideal and I think the visitors from Porto will have a big advantage here. The situation in Ukraine has also meant that many Brazilians no longer play for Donetsk, who used to be a hotbed of young Brazilian talent. There are still five Brazilians in the squad, but the quality is no longer there, to put it respectfully.

Donetsk's lack of competition in Ukraine
Dynamo Kiev used to be the other big club in Ukraine, but they no longer have any Legionnaires. Last year, Donezk finished above the Scots in a group that included Leipzig, Real Madrid and Celtic, but their 4-0 defeat to Rasenballsport was one of the highlights. The quality is just not there and the situation is just awful. To make matters worse, Ukraine's best player, centre-back Mykola Matvienko, is injured.

Porto with good chances in Group H
Obviously, Barcelona are the big favourites in the group, but I can already see Portugal ahead of them. Porto, as always, have a good mix of experience and talent and the 40-year-old Pepe is still holding his own. They are unbeaten in their domestic league and I see FC Porto as the favourites. Their individual quality speaks for itself and Donezk do not even have the benefit of home advantage.

I think I have made it clear where I see this game going. The situation is simply terrible and Donezk will certainly throw everything they have at this game, but they will lack quality up front. Porto will dominate the game and in the end they will win with their classic strength of play. As an alternative, I can easily see the "under" here.
