Europa League: AC Milan vs AS Roma

Next Thursday, AC Milan and AS Roma will meet in the Europa League. My tip for this game is that AC Milan will win. As both teams play in Serie A, the comparison in the league is a good place to start. AC Milan are in 2nd place and 13 points and 3 places ahead of AS Roma. Milan are 14 points off the top of the table and 13 points off 5th place and therefore outside the CL places. With 7 games left to play, there is nothing to stop them from concentrating all their efforts on the Europa League. AS Roma, on the other hand, are still fighting for the CL places. Of course, they will still want to progress in the EL, but I still think it's worth mentioning. The super form of AC Milan is more decisive for my betting tip. They have won their last 7 competitive matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just 5. I would describe Rome's recent performance as rather mixed. If I also take the last 7 games into account, they have 4 wins, 2 draws and one defeat and a goal difference of 12 : 4. That sounds good. If I only look at the last 5 games and leave out the two 4:0 victories, that leaves 2 wins, 2 draws and one defeat and a meagre 4 goals scored. Rome's defense is convincing with only 3 goals conceded, even when looking at the last 5 games. The decisive point for me is that two strong defenses meet, but AC Milan's offense has been much stronger recently. Added to this is the home advantage. It will certainly be a competitive game, but due to Milan's offensive capabilities, I expect AC Milan to win. The odds of 1.83 are fair in my eyes, but should not fall much lower to remain playable.
